uBreakiFix Update Regarding Coronavirus

As stay-at-home restrictions begin to lift across the country, our corporate and franchise-owned stores are committed to continuing to serve our customers’ needs while adhering to CDC recommendations as well as federal, state, and local guidance. Our top priority is ensuring the health and safety of our customers while creating the best possible experience. We have recommended several new safety protocols, such as limiting the number of customers in a store, enhancing device disinfecting procedures, and putting social distancing queues in place. Specifically, floor markers will be in place to help customers maintain a safe social distance from one another and all employees will continue to wear masks and gloves at all times. Store occupancy levels will be limited to help ensure proper social distancing. Stores will use bins and other measures to ensure that contact with customers remains limited. All in-store regulations will be posted on the door and customers will be asked to follow these guidelines to keep store employees and fellow customers safe.

We take seriously the impact the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is having on lives and communities around the world and in our own backyards. The health and safety of customers and team members is a top priority across all 560 uBreakiFix locations, and we are actively working to keep the uBreakiFix experience as seamless as possible while implementing enhanced health and safety measures to protect team members and the customers we serve.

We are following CDC recommendations, as well as closely monitoring and following federal, state and local guidance as the situation evolves by the day, hour, and minute. Our franchised locations, most of whom are small business owners and employers, are making decisions on a store-by-store basis based on federal, state and local guidance to do what is best for their customers, employees, and communities.

We are a provider of essential services during this crisis. President Trump’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued guidance to state and local governments stating that businesses that support communications and information technology are critical infrastructure activities that must continue without interruption during this crisis. States and local governments have followed this federal guidance when issuing stay at home orders, and some states such as Virginia, Kentucky, and New Jersey have even expressly stated that mobile phone and electronic device repair is an essential service.

Electronics are more important right now than ever before. Electronics, especially during this crisis, allow communities to work remotely, provide virtual schooling for children, connect with family, loved ones, order goods and services, contact health care providers and emergency services and so much more. We know that a broken phone or laptop is more than just inconvenient right now—it prevents you from doing the things you need to do to make it through this crisis.

Our local store pages are being updated as quickly as possible to reflect temporary closures, changes to operating hours, and any other pertinent information. Some stores are also offering modified services like curbside, mail-in, and We Come to You options to keep you safe. Please contact your local uBreakiFix store for the most up-to-date options and information.

We have implemented detailed public health guidelines for all of our corporate stores, and have shared those guidelines with our franchised locations to implement in their respective stores. Those guidelines include guidance to do the following:

  • increase hand-washing frequency
  • clean all workspaces and high-touch surfaces at regular intervals
  • minimize person-to-person contact by wearing gloves when handling customers’ devices
  • thoroughly sanitize all devices upon receipt and return

Team members are asked to remain home if they have any sign of illness, and we are reinforcing preventative practices across all stores. We believe public health is a shared responsibility and are committed to doing our part to keep our communities safe. We ask that customers exercise the same level of caution and diligence when it comes to personal health and hygiene so that we may all stay safe and healthy.

We will update this website with new information as it becomes available. Thank you for your cooperation as we deal with this unprecedented challenge.
