I live in the Caribbean and dropped my phone into salt water...definitely not the happiest day of my life. I could only imagine that the water damage was pretty severe, but it was worth giving it a shot to send it UbreakIfix. Unfortunately, the damage was, in fact, too extensive for a repair to be made or for the phone to be purchased by the company. Although this was disheartening, their communication with me during the whole process was excellent. I was notified of my phone's arrival at their shop as soon as it arrived and was kept abreast of its condition and progress throughout the time they had it (this ended up being only 24 hours because of their quick turn around). They mailed me my phone the next day, apologizing that it could not be saved; I had requested specific mailing details and they followed them to a 'T'. Though my phone was not salvageable, UbreakIfix's professionalism and courteousness throughout the process made my business with them enjoyable and painless. Rather odd for the fix to be unsuccessful and yet still feel satisfied with the company! Will return with future business if my next iPhone is unlucky as well...
